Washington State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State, is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Historical Zine Contest with co-sponsors Washington State Archives and Timberland Regional Library. Students are asked to create a Zine about some aspect of Washington History.
Entries will be accepted from four age groups:
•Grades 4-6
•Grades 7-9
•Grades 10-12
Entries must be postmarked by December 15, 2016.
The Letters About Literature Contest encourages young readers in grades 4-12 to read a book and write a letter to the author about how the book changed their view of the world or themselves.
This year’s contest deadlines are December 2, 2016 for Level 3 (grades 9-12) letters and January 9, 2017 for Level 1 (grades 4-6) and 2 (grades 7-8) letters. Entries will be accepted beginning November 2, 2016.
